Short answer
Pro-Palestinians & Islamists love calling Hamas “freedom fighters,” but their actions say otherwise. They don’t just fight Israel — they torture, kill, and crush their own people in Gaza. Just recently, they executed six accused “spies,” shot others for looting or raising prices — even targeting people just trying to get food that Hamas hoarded. This isn’t resistance — it’s violent control, and innocent Gazans are paying the price.
Long answer
Pro-Palestinian activists and Hamas apologists often call Hamas “freedom fighters,” but their actions in Gaza show a brutal obsession with power. In recent months, they’ve executed Palestinians — some for alleged collaboration with Israel, others for looting, breaking rules, or simply speaking out. In January 2025, six people were executed in Rafah for spying, others were shot in the legs for looting or raising prices — with threats of more to come. And like any terror organization, Hamas has also executed people who oppose them directly, just to silence dissent.
A graphic video shared by Gaza Now showed Hamas operatives shooting men on the ground, captioned as “punishing agents of the Zionist occupation.” This mirrors what happened in 2014, when Hamas executed 18 suspected collaborators after Israel killed senior Hamas commanders.
Hamas claimed “current circumstances” forced these decisions, calling them retaliation and deterrence. Al Jazeera reported these public executions are meant to scare Palestinians out of cooperating with Israel.
Beyond so-called spies, Hamas violently punishes civilians for economic offenses too. Reports say 17 Palestinians, including merchants, were shot in the feet for raising prices. Their police chief even warned they’d “beat with an iron fist” anyone who disturbs order in Gaza.
This is Hamas’s real face: a terror group that rules through fear, silences opposition, and crushes its own people — all while pretending to fight for their freedom.
